Yesterday when I capture a window, the selected area is bright and the rest of the page is dark. Yesterday, that light pattern remains after the image capture, requiring a reboot to fix. Anyone know a work-around?

After using Cmd Shift 5 to capture a selected area of the screen, the changed lighting remains after the image is captured - see below. Is there a way to fix this short of a reboot? I haven't updated anything in the last week. This is really distracting.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test.

If no resolve then state what exact Mac and what exact macOS you are currently running.

@leroydouglas

Thank you for knowing how to troubleshoot.

First time I've had to do it on the Mac.

Logged in Safe Mode - problem didn't happen

Logged in normally - problem didn't happen

Good!

If it happens again, I'll come back.

FWIW iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2019) Monterey 12.4

I'll include that in future - learning curve.

Thank you!
