The answer to your question is "No".
I certainly understand and would feel the same if I got hung up on too. But please understand that customer support is Goldman Sachs, not Apple. I’m not tying to be an apologist, but the customer support team for co-branded credit cards are the bank. I don’t fault American Airlines when a Citibank rep and I get disconnected. It’s a challenging position, made even worse by the events of the last two years.
Granted for some users a paper statement would be beneficial. No argument. But Apple Card was not really designed for those people. I value the safety and security of Apple Card MasterCard and I’m willing to give up a few minor (at least minor to me) conveniences. I understand that you undoubtedly feel differently.
Moving forward, if the statements and segmenting of certain spending categories are a priority, look at American
Express cards. I have several and they provide great monthly and annual statements (both online and paper if requested) that will benefit you and meet your needs.
I apologize if I seemed grumpy, the GS customer service guy had just hung up after making me wait on hold for 20 minutes.
Answering you question, I'm disappointed for the following reasons:
First, reviewing your charges helps prevent mistakes and fraud. If you miss these charges, Goldman and Apple get paid for a mistake that you didn't catch because of this asinine system. As Jeff Donald noted above, everyone else sends out statements, while it is the burden of Apple uses to proactively hunt them down.
Some people search statements for reimbursable charges and use statements to be paid back by employers. Changing the workflow creates gaps here too. As with above, this is dollars going out of my pocket because I was dumb enough to use this product.
Reviewing this stuff on an App is a hassle for those of us old enough to need glasses to see your phone. Diving through the wallet app is enough of a bother that you all have FAQ's about it in the can.
If I thought about it, other there are probably other reasons that receiving a statement automatically is a good idea, but I just shut my account, and you clearly have already made up your mind as well...
I don’t get the uproar about paper statements when your statement can be printed any time you want either from your iPhone or the Apple Card website. Why is getting it in the mail so important to some? I’m really curious about this.
AmEx has Statements front and center in their app. Monthly spend has far greater breakdown of spending categories, percentages, comparison by last month, last year etc. and not just pretty changing colors. My account prefers I use AmEx because it save him time.
In regard to Apple Statements, they list transactions and that’s about it. That’s fine for simple checking for errors like op wants. I personally don’t see and advantage to paper statements vs electronic statement. I don’t ever print Statements and prefer electronic. I just wish Apple Card Statement was more complete.
Your statement, and notification, is provided directly on your iPhone. You can download a copy there too.
Thank you. That is correct, but not responsive to my question.
Thank you. Disappointing but helpful.

Could you explain why it is disappointing when you can print your monthly statement directly from your iPhone any time you want?
