Using a normal usb charger to charge MacBook Pro, 1m type c cable is ok but 2m is not, why?

I used several different usb chargers(type a) and type c(type a to type c) cables to charge my MacBook Pro(13inch 2018) for quite a while, although quite slow, but without any further problem. But the type c cables are too short, so I bought some 2m ones. And I found none of the 2m ones work! I wonder why?

note: all cables here are type a to type c ones, since I have usb a chargers all over my house, and I want to utilise them to charge my MacBook Pro wherever I want. The weird thing is that all types of those 1 meter cables worked perfectly fine but those new 2 meters don’t.

can some one tell me what’s the problem here?

"Thicker wires means higher conductance and lower resistance per unit length"

Only if the alloy composition of the two conductors are perfectly identical. Cheaper cords can, and so do. come with lower grade alloys. Some I've seen looked to be Aluminum, not copper.

Not necessarily. The thickness should be selected based the length. Thicker wires means higher conductance and lower resistance per unit length such that a longer cable can be the same resistance as a shorter one. But it depends on the design.

Often passive USB extension cables don’t work because the cables aren’t oversized.

I forgot to mention:

1: it seems type-c to type-c wires always work, no matter the length (compare to type-a to type-c wires, which works at 1 meter but not 2 meters)

2: it seems type-c charger also always work, compares to type-a charger.

and yes, 2 meters cables are much thicker than 1 meter ones, although the latter works the former don’t
