Changed apple id but every 10 minutes get icloud login using old apple id

My original apple id used a yahoo email which I no longer use. I changed the apple id. However, repeatedly- almost every 10 mins- I get an icloud sign on with my old email address listed. It won't allow me to change the id to my current id. This is driving me crazy. I am unable to open icloud using the old yahoo id with its password so I do not know what is in this icloud drive. Any thoughts.
