so for ios it has the background color as the album you play and the song but for imac (i have the 2011 intel 500 gb version but its on macos monterey) and its not giving me any color for the album. is this only on m1 models or is this normal for imacs with no m1 chip. its not a big deal just wondering

Be sure to try double-checking which macOS version is currently installed at the Apple menu > About This Mac. The oldest iMac devices that supports macOS Monterey will be the Late 2015 models. Info on that here: macOS Monterey is compatible with these computers - Apple Support
It will be normal behavior for the background of the Music app to not change per album on macOS like it does on iOS. However, you may always opt to submit feedback on what you'd like to see at Apple's dedicated feedback page: Product Feedback - Apple
