The "trust this computer?" notification is stuck on my lock screen and I can't log into my iPhone

apparently this has been a problem since april 2020. the only help apple offers is to get the phone into recovery mode but unfortunately when this screen shows up, you won't be able to get it into recovery mode. and apparently the only option from apple is to bring it into a store to connect to one of their computers.

Yes That turned out to be the key - that it had to be connected when force restarting. I was able to figure out on my own. Apple never told me that It had to be connected. Apple doesn't say online or when u call them to connect it. Pretty important step to omit. This response will get deleted as have my others because apple doesn't want people to know that their instructions are not complete. You don't have to take it to a store. You just have to be connected when u do the force restart.

It doesn’t clear after a forced restart? First take off any case. Then:

Press and very quickly release the volume up button. > Immediately press and very quickly release by the volume down button > Immediately press and hold down the side button and keep holding the side button until the Apple logo appears release the side button.  (do not release when you see “Swipe to power off”) If your iPhone won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support

What Happens when you have it connected to a computer and trying to put it into recovery mode?
