iPhone 12: The contents of the iPhone could not be read. Click restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings.

-When the iPhone gets connected to mac, it shows in the finder sidebar but the iPhone only shows "If you are experiencing problems with your iPhone, you can restore its original settings by clicking restore iPhone" 

-"The contents of the iPhone could not be read. Click restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings." 

-No option to back up, the only option is restore iPhone on finder 

-64GB50.7GB of 128GB used on iPhone 

-The mac has more than 120GB free 

-tried 2 macs and different cables 

-Restarted the mac and iPhone 

-iPhone is on 15.5 and mac is on 12.4

Do you have other suggestions to back up the iPhone to the computer
