iPhone 13 Mini Bluetooth not pairing with MacBook Pro

When I want to pair my iPhone 13 Mini with my MacBook Pro (2019) via Bluetooth I get a message on my phone saying the connection is unsuccessful and it's not supported.

After spending A LOT of time trouble shooting this, the Support folks said that this is known problem and it is being worked on. So, in other words, you can't pair a iPhone 13 Mini with a MacBook Pro (2019).

Traveling and working using MacBook Pro tethered to iPhone just isn't happening for me, at all - and whilst going straight to USB works for a little while, when another WiFi connection kicks it off and tries to log me on, and this despite me turning off Wifi in Settings which just turns itself back on to discovery mode without me doing a thing...well, you may imagine how insanely frustrating this is...

Is there any timeline on when this problem (Bluetooth) will be fixed? Or how to stop the WiFi discovery setting toggle switch turning it self back on even after I turn it off?

An iPhone will not pair via Bluetooth to a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. See the following for more information. Bluetooth: Why can't I pair my iPhone or iPad with another iOS device or with my computer?

If you are attempting to use Handoff/Continuity or AirDrop, that does involve Bluetooth but the devices are NOT paired; Bluetooth just needs to be on and the devices in range of each other. The following may help with Handoff/Continuity issues: Use Continuity to connect your Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch - Apple Support

Thank you very much for your reply - which I have read though.

Yes, I have done all that / cellular plan supports / on and within range, everything everything, however, the issue continues.

I think I might just give up and not bother tethering as it simply doesn't work on / between the devices I have.

I'll delete this thread now.

Thank you again.

Thank you Lawrence. Yes, I can do that however, and as I said, if I am traveling on a train (for example) and there’s a wifi within the train or someone else’s hotspot, the wifi toggle turns itself on, drops the hotspot and the iPhone drops the cellular connection and reaches out for the new connections. I might as well close the computer and read a book instead…
