Connecting Thunderbolt 3 display to MacMini M1

I have connected my Thunderbolt 2 Display to my MacMini M1 for several months without a hitch.

The display did not awake over the past few days without removing and re-inserting/restarting etc. etc. and is now completely dark. I suspect the Thunderbolt cable attached to the mag-safe connector.

Will a MiniDisplayPort cable to USB-C work connected to the Thunderbolt 2 port on the back of the display to the MacMini?

Your input is appreciated.

The TB2 to TB2 to adaptor did the trick - nearly bought another monitor!

If you suspect the cable then get a TB2 cable and connect from the TB port on the display to your adapter then directly to your M1 Mac.

Have already ordered the TB2 cable and hope it works - will report back when it arrives (also ordered a MiniDV to USB-C to cover my bases
