left air pod won't charge

Based on what you described, the left AirPod is not making a complete connection. Take the left AirPod out and make sure there are no obstructions with the contacts. Even though they are new, dust still may get trapped.

If nothing is there, try resetting them in case it's related to other issues not related to hardware: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

If there are still issues, you can look into either returning/exchanging them or repair options:

If Nicolas_82 options don't help, take it into the Apple Store and have them fix it. For my Pro's there was actually something that Apple said we just need to give you a new pair (regardless of Apple Care or not)
