Unlock Apple iPod classic

iPod classics don't get a MAC address or an IP address. If you've locked an Pod classic and forgotten the passcode you typically need to restore the device. See Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community if you have content on the device that isn't in your library.

Silly thought, but there is a small black slider on the top edge of the iPod. Make sure this is slid to the left hiding the orange blob that indicates the controls on the face of the device are disabled.
