Three Finger Drag bug on trackpads?

I think I've experienced this for as long as I've used Macs and it's one of those things that can get very frustrating but I have no idea what could be causing it.

Sometimes it seems a window will get "stuck" in drag mode, even if the window is not visually dragging. So that the next time I go to click on something on the screen, be it another window or icon, that original window that was "stuck" will snap to the place I clicked next. So I will then need to drag that original window back to it's spot, and then continue doing whatever I was doing.

It feels so random and I can't think of anything different I'm doing to cause it... has anyone else experienced this? I could probably record and catch it in action, it happens so much.

I'm using a 2021 16in MBP with MacOS 12.4
