iPhone not visible in finder
my iPhone on mac os pro is visible in iTunes, but not in finder, any ideas how to fix this to allow simple file transfers ?

thank you i am running os x el capitan version 10.11.6
the phone appears in the iTunes app, and in the system information....just not in the finder window, indicating the usb port, cable, and phone are all working correctly.
is there a setting to change that will show the connected phone in 'finder' '
There is no setting that allows an iPhone to show in Finder using El Capitan. Just keep using iTunes for syncing.
only newer macOS version where itunes is no longer use finder to access ios devices, and even then they don't really act like usb mass storage devices you can just copy files to
