Photos: delete photos from library

I have several hundred photos in my library (iPhone 12), so I created number of albums. After moving the pictures into my different albums, I deleted the picture in the library, but it also deleted in the album as well. Why?

can this be fixed, so can remove duplicate pictures from my library and still have them in my folder/albums?

thanks

George

When you created the additional albums and believed you were moving photos to different albums from your Recents Library, all you were doing is placing a link to the photo from the Recents to the album that you created. When you deleted the photo from the Recents, it removed the link in the album, so you could no longer see the photo in the album. You did not put a copy or the original in the album you created. The only way to get photos into an Album and away from the Recents is to import the photos to the computer, then sync the photos from the computer to the iPhone. Those photos then cannot be deleted from the iPhone, they can only be removed by the sync process again.

No, if it is deleted from the library, it is gone, completely gone. Please see the reply by léonie at your other thread.
