iMessage Mentions won’t work for me

hi! can anyone help me? i have an iPhone 13 Pro, and my iOS is completely up to date. Every time i go to mention someone within iMessage or a group conversation where everyone has an iPhone, my mentions do not work! i type the “@“ symbol and i type out their name exactly how it is in my contacts, and it just won’t work.

Mention in imessage not working I have the Iphone 13 Pro. Only thing not working is my mention in the group messages. I have updated the software to the latest and backed up and restored. Mention still does not work. Tried with @ and just the name as it is in my phone. Also have no emojis in anyone’s name. Please say there is a fix for this. Can’t mention people on iMessage after iOS 16 upgrade I have the iPhone 13 Pro. I was running iOS 15.7 and always I was able to mention people in iMessage, both in group chats and single conversations. I was just typing the person’s name exactly as I have stored it in my contacts and it was showing the contact on top of the name to mention the person. After installing iOS 16, this just isn’t working. No matter how I will type the person’s name, it isn’t showing the contact to mention. I tried a restart, tried disabling and re enabling iMessage, and of course I have tried in different conversations and with different people. I have managed it to work only the exact moment when someone else is sending a message. That time, if I type a person’s name, it shows the contact on top of it to mention. So of course its a bug. My girlfriend also has the same problem with her iPhone 12 Mini. Any ideas??

iMessage shows contact as Maybe and think we are in a group chat Hello, Lately iMessage show a conversation with a contact like this. maybe : Name to : You and Name I checked and I have her email and telephone number set in her contact page. It is not set in another contact. We tried to delete the chat thread, on both end, and it didn’t change anything. What can we do ? Thanks for the help.

How to use mentions

Open a Messages conversation.
Type a contact's name, then tap the name when it appears. Or type @ followed by their name.

Reply to specific messages on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod ...

thank you, but i do that and no names ever pop up and when i do the @ sign it doesn’t mention the person
