Screen rotation on my iPhone 12

My screen used to rotate without a problem when I sent text messages, but now it's stuck horizontally with my text screen. How do I get a vertical screen for texting? I've already tried the suggestion about making sure the orientation is in "off" mode.

You have stated that you have ensured that the Screen Orientation Lock is set to OFF. I understand that your screen is stuck in Landscape mode (Horizontal) and you need to get back in Portrait mode (Vertical).

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

Press and quickly release Volume UP button
Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).
