Photos.app Album sorting by Date Photo Taken?

Yes or No: Is this still an impossible achievement in 2022 in the Photos app?

To be clear, I experienced something (a vacation or sports event in chronological order) as time does pass that way.

I took Photos of that something. And put them in an Album, and then in a Shared Album.

Neither seem to offer sorting of the Photos in chronological order. Just a somewhat random stream of photos.

Hard to imagine after all the years this has been a topic in this forum it hasn't been solved.

It can't be impossible but somehow makes it appear as though -- to Apple it might be.

Any suggestions including 3rd party tools that cn help solve this??

Hi

In a standard album - right click the album and select sort, then sort by oldest first, or newest first.

In a shared album, you can only sort by date in later versions of Monterey, and that only applies to the view on your mac. Shared albums normally sort in the order added to the album.
