Longer iPad cord and plug are not working

Was it working with the previous charging cable? If yes, then it may be possible that the new cable is either the wrong type or could be defective. Either way, I would suggest returning it for a full refund or replacement.

If it was not working with the other cable, then the support article you arrived here from should help. If it doesn't, I suggest that you contact Apple Support directly for further assistance with this matter. To do so, simply select the "Get Support" link in the upper right-hand side of this forum's web page.

You can pinpoint what is not working by swapping the cables and chargers:

If you still have the old charger and you know for a fact that it works by using the old cable , try using the new cable with the old charger. If no response, its the new cable.

If the new cable works with the old charger. It's not the new cable but the new charger.

Process of elimination.
