My After Effect Renders are taking more time then usual (1 hr for a 1.30mins project)

I am using a Macbook M1 Pro with 10 Core CPU and 16 GB Ram.

When I am working on a project in After effect it runs smooth but whenever I try to render the project the render take allot time then usual (About 1 hr). I tried to render the same project with my friends Macbook M1 Pro with 8 Core cpu and 16 GB ram. and surprisingly the same project took only 10-15 mins to render. ( Used Media Encoder - Basic settings on both of the Mac's while rendering )

Can Anyone help me to resolve it ?

Things I have already tried,

  1. Clearing cache files
  2. Reinstalling Media encoder
  3. Installed Previous version of Media encoder
  4. Tried with different projects (result is the same - take 4/5x longer time then usual)
  5. Tried rendering from the after effect render panel , result is somewhat the same.

1 - Restart in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.

2 - Does the issue present in this mode ?

3 - Sometimes a Safe Boot followed by a Normal Boot will just put things right.

4 - If not - there could be something in the main User Account playing up. To further isolate this - Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac. Then log out of the Main User account and log into the dummy account and test again if the issue persists.

5 - If the issue is present in the dummy account - then, this appears to be a System Wide issue on the computer.

The next best thing for us to having an actual On-Hand experience on this computer is to follow the steps below

Download the Application Etrecheck directly from a well Respected ASC Contributor. And Safe to use.

The application is free or paid from added features.

Run the application with Full Disc Access ( Security & Privacy - Full Disc Access ).

It will take a Snap Shot -  both the hardware and software.

We can have a look at the report for possible issues and may have possible suggestions to resolve the issues.

Thank you for the Report.

I have dissected every detail in this report and see nothing that would result in this behaviour.

Exception, " Google Chrome Helper (Renderer) (4) 534 MB (Google LLC) " which is known to be a Resource and Memory Hog. An alternative without the overhead of Google might be www.brave.com

Outside of the Rendering issue - Time Machine Backup is not setup. Anything that can not be replaced or recreated is worth protecting IMHO

Good you found a workable solution 👍

You may consider marking your solution as Solved so others seeing this may follow your idea and downgrade the Adobe software.

Q - " I hope Apple fix this issue with the next MacOS. "

A - As the Software in question " Adobe " is not owned by Apple , I doubt Apple needs to fixing anything.

It is the responsibility of the third party software to make their software fit into and work with the version macOS it is intended to work in.

A - As for the next version of macOS 13 Ventura - too little is known able this macOS..

If, the now downgraded version of Adobe Software, did not perform well in Monterey - why would one expect it to work well in a newer version of macOS Ventura ?
