Startup Security Utility

Hi. I'm trying to boor my computer MacBook Pro 2022 M1 from an old external drive running High Sierra. When I try to change the Security Policy from Restore Mode, I always get this error:

"Invalid Disk: Failed to gather policy information for the selected disk"

Any suggestion? Thanx

High Sierra will not run on an M1 Mac. Big Sur was the earliest version of macOS that would run.

Just to add, you cannot run any version of macOS earlier than what a Mac shipped with.
