When I change my avatar in System Preference it also chanfges my login screen is there anyway it can be different for login screen? This is a new iMac 24

No. Sorry Frank. The avatar is whatever it set for your Apple ID.
In Monterey, if I change the avatar for my Apple ID it changes the avatar for my admin account, and vice versa.
