iMac cannot communicate with Brother HL-L2395DW printer

I receive the message "unable to communicate with the printer at this time" - "unable to connect to 'Brother HL-L2395 DW series._ipp._tcp.local' due to an error. I twas working when I went on vacation for a week, but now upon my return this is what I get, even though I have changed nothing. I have tried resetting the printer; I have removed it and tried to reinstall on the computer. It recognizes the printer, but then I get that message.

Help!

iMac (24-inch, M1, 2021, 2 ports)

Hi,

The Brother HL-L2395DW is listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model supporting the AirPrint technology. This means that it can be used without additional drivers (Mac) and without a special app (iPhone), provided that the printer, the Mac, and the iPhone are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router). AirPrint works with wired (Ethernet) or wireless (Wi-Fi) network connections. The printer could be wired to one of the LAN ports of the router, or using a wireless connection.

In case of difficulties with AirPrint, and if the setup is OK, a problem with the router not correctly discovering/registering/detecting one or more devices can be suspected. If so, you could try the following procedure (in the exact order):

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the Mac computer, the iPhone, and all other devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the Mac computer and the iPhone. Finally, power on all other devices/computers.

Monterey Version 12.4. Printer has been connected via wifi. I just connected the printer with a USB cable and it worked; when I disconnected the cable, I have the same problems.

Troubleshooting while trying to continue to use wifi: removed the printer from the Printers and Scanners on the iMac and tried to reinstall it - same results. I reset the printer using the controls on the front of the printer - same results. Turned the printer off and on - same results. Tried printing from my iPhone; it found the printer, but said it was offline, even though the printer says the wifi signal is strong.
