CPU Temperature 81 Celsius/ 177 Fahrenheit !!!! Need help

Dear Responder

Hi

I was using Sftp in Local to transfer about 10 GBs of video files to my macbookpro 16 inch 2019 and then I found that cpu temperature rises to 81' Celsius when doing this and fans stay at normal RPM around 1800-1900!

I have to say that fans work properly in other cases but in this case and other cases like when you use a dual boot windows os it does not operates well. I will also attach a screen shot of terminal with command line response to "sudo powermetrics --samplers smc |grep -i 'CPU die temperature' "

((it was at the end of proc so in screen shot u see temperature starts reducing after that...))

Please help and inform me

thankyou so much.

Hello Helpmeuser0,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

Have you tried resetting the SMC of your MacBook Pro to see if that may clear up what you're experiencing? If not, give that a try to see how it works. If you're using a MacBook Pro with Apple silicon, close and open the lid on your notebook, or restart your computer. For assistance with resetting SMC on an Intel-based MacBook Pro, check out this resource: How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

If that isn't helpful, Contact Apple Support so they can check into this with you in more detail.

Have a great day!
