Thanks - I get why that would work.
I could deploy a small LDAP on cloud and then use VPN to secure traffic ... I'd just have to configure a split VPN and ensure that the VPN end-point was a static IP address... that's a quite a project. Complex but do-able... but not for the faint-hearted :)
