A couple weeks ago, my iPhone10 mail app started to delay opening. Almost exactly 30 seconds before it would load emails. Today there is still the 30 second delay, but now it quite the app completely. Can’t access mail at all.
My iPad sitting next to it loads immediately so it’s not a connection or internet availability issue.

Sometimes a quick reboot does the trick. If that does not work, mail must be having issues with some of the data/email it downloaded. Try to remove third-party accounts from Mail (Settings-Mail-Accounts) one at a time, and see if it normalizes. Good luck.
