My apple tv box doesn't ask for my verification code and it comes back with "could not sign in , your apple ID or password is incorrect" I am signed in on my phone no problem so I know it is not an Apple ID or password issue. What is the fix?

If you see a password box, enter the password (ABC) followed by the code (123) or ABC123 (no spaces).
