no junk or spam sbcglobal

My sbcglobal email account shows a Junk folder in Apple Mail on my iPhone 13 Mini, iOS 15.5 but it is grayed out and I cannot move mail to it.

I tried deleting the account and reinstalling it on my iPhone but that onky grayed out the Trash folder too, for a little while but Trash is now working again. The Junk folder is still grayed out, however.

Is there a way to fix this?

OK, so here's a solution! When you are in the Inbox of an SBCglobal.net email account using the iOS Mail app and tap Select to choose one or more emails that you want to move the the Junk folder, instead of tapping Move at the bottom of the screen tap Mark, then Move to Junk.

It's not the most intuitive interface because this is not how you would move mail between other folders, but it works and I for one am very glad to have the answer to moving numerous SPAM/Junk messages all at once to the Junk folder instead of having to do them one-by-one.

I know nothing more than what I posted. I just started this thread today.

Your tip about swiping to move to Junk is something I hadn't thought of but it's the best option available to me right now. I suppose I could add, that on my laptop I can move things to the junk bin en masse but not in iOS, not in the fashion I would like, in bulk.

I may reach out to Apple on the phone to see if they have any ideas. If I learn anything of interest I will report back.
