UK Delivery times on schedule?

Hey Guys,

Are the UK shipping & delivery times on schedule / correlate with the supplied Apple receipt?

I ordered on the 28th July and have been given a shipping date of 18th August, with delivery 'on or before' 20th August. Are the dates provided generally correct, or a bit out?

When can I likely expect to see the details to change regards the phone's moving westwards?

Sorry if I've missed this elsewhere on the forum, but my eyes are aching... think I need them tested!

Oh, I'm so excited!!

Thanks

I ordered a black 32GB IP4 on 7 Aug and was given a shipping date of 30th Aug, delivery 1st Sept.

I ended up cancelling though as the London Apple stores seem to be getting more frequent stock in over the last few days. I dropped into the new Covent Garden store this evening at about 8pm and there were no queues for iPhones and they had 32GB ones available.

I think the lengthy lead / delivery times on iPhone 4 are the result of the wily Apple marketing crew. Create a sexy product, create the 'buzz' and TV advertisements for the product... then limit the supply of that product, and look what happens.

People 'must have one'. They pay extortionate prices for them on ebay, queue for days outside Apple resellers, and generally get in a right lather because they can't get one the day after they decide they want one! It creates anticipation, expectation and more customers for Apple.

I think Apple service is generally as good as it's products, it's just that consumers have to be party to a bit of company marketing to get them ravenous and in need of sating.

Alternatively, demand for the iPhone may just be so high, that the factories just can't keep up with demand, hence the wait!

At the end of the day, they are just mobile phones even if they are the best on the market
