How to turn off notification reader?

Ive had this issue lately where while I have my AirPods connected to my iPhone and listening to music, and my phone is locked, my phone will interrupt my music to narrate certain notifications when they appear. It doesn’t happen for every notification that appears, in fact it seems completely random which notifications trigger this issue and which don’t, and I can’t figure out how to turn this feature off. I’ve looked through the accessibility tab of my settings because I thought it might be some form of screen reader or voice over but nothing of that nature is on so I’m rather lost on what to do.

iPhone 11, iOS 15

Hello terrabyteContrivance,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like Announce Notifications may be enabled on your iPhone. You can change that from Settings > Notifications > Announce Notifications > [app name]. Check out Announce notifications with Siri on AirPods or Beats - Apple Support.

Best wishes.
