my iPhone isn’t receiving verification codes from Apple. Ironically my watch does, though, which is synced to my phone…. Signed out/in to iCloud. Toggled airport mode. All the standard stuff and nothing. Stumped.

A connected Watch will take all notifications by default in preference to the phpne. It is the design.
That's not helpful, that's just a description of how things are supposed to work. Key word: "supposed." LOL
