Mail notifications on iPhone 13 Mini

My wife's iPhone 13 Mini frequently stops notifying receipt of new emails, although text notifications remain OK. The ONLY way I've found to put this right is to restore the device from the most recent backup, after which email notifications return. It's becoming a pain to keep re-instating Face ID, etc. just to get the device to do something that it's supposed to do. Any suggestions as to the cause of this, please?

The options for retrieving data may vary by email account. From Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data, there should be a Push that can help. More info can be found in If you can't receive email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.


If you haven't already, test with multiple email accounts on your wife's iPhone as this may be isolated to a certain account. If needed, reference Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support to add an account. Do you find that a particular account stops sending notifications?

Only one account used in Mail. Removed and added several times, plus signing out of Apple account, etc. Software is at latest iteration (not Beta). I bought my wife the iPhone 13 in order to alleviate the problem which started on her previous iPhone (12 Mini), but the situation persists.


Another anomaly I've noticed, but couldn't get ny help with, was that the "push" option for email is not present, only "check every 15 minutes." Why is this and is it connected with the mentioned problem?

If the notifications are enabled, does this happen with multiple accounts, or only one?

Have you tried to remove the account and add it again after?
