How do I re-format my time machine drive?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 12.4

Time machine - used the wrong hd Good afternoon I formatted the wrong desk and set it up for use for the time machine which is of course not my intension. I'd like to use the disk for other things but I can't figure out how to allow for other items to be put on that disk now... Help?

Time machine I have problem with time machine, becase of space, you can't yust bean some files. Simpiest solution is to format time machine in MS DOS, then format again in MAC extended and you have a fresh strat for Time machine.

i went through the 1St Aid options and ended up having to simply erase the disk and start the while back-up process again. Thankfully, I keep another back-up on iCloud and there’s no threat to national security! All part of life’s rich tapestry.
