Screen cracked by cleaning the macbook with a wet tissue

today I was cleaning my MacBook Pro 2017 and I heard an inaudible sound then I noticed that my screen was broken when I was cleaning it with a wet tissue suitable for screen cleaning.

it is unbelievable how fragile is MacBook pro now. since many people had the same problem as me I think it could be a design problem!

Really? Do you mean the problem is the Tissue?
I use it every day to clean my glasses cause it's soft enough and of course without any chemicals.

I only provided you with Apple's article on the subject of cleaning displays. I don't know what caused the damage. Maybe while cleaning you applied too much pressure. It is impossible for us to determine the final cause. We can only offer possibilities, policy, and recommendations.

Based on the photographs you provided, I am unable to locate any crack in the screen -- that is in the display portion of the display assembly.

I do note that you arrear to have scratched (or possibly cracked) the bezel below the screen, which may be annoying, but is a cosmetic problem and is not caused by any design shortcoming.

For a "ruling", you should make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple-owned store. Only after an in person inspection can any determination be made.

There is a crack on the bottom Bezel (right half). The Bezel is glass covering the display cables so there is hollow areas beneath the Bezel. Putting any pressure on the Bezel can very easily crack the Bezel.

Personally I would cut a piece of black electrical tape to fit the height of the Bezel and place over the cracked area to help hold the cracked section together. Unfortunately for Apple to repair it, it will involve replacing the whole Display Assembly which is very expensive $600+ US usually unless you have AppleCare+ which would make it $99 US. The damage is already done so the OP may as well continue using it as is since the repair will cost the same today as it will later on if a cable becomes damaged (unless of course AppleCare+ expires).

I have replaced the cracked Bezels ($20 US for the part) on our organizations laptops, but this is not something an average person should do. Even an experienced repair technician can have trouble replacing the Bezel without damaging the rest of the laptop.

Yes, I agree it is a terrible design, but it is not the worst design with these USB-C Apple laptops. In fact it is a very minor design flaw for these USB-C laptops.
