SamsungXpress M2020 Driver Problems

After adding an updated driver to my new macbook air (2022), I am prompted to install the printer. When trying to install, it asks which driver to use. As expected, the list that is provided does not show the driver I installed. Where do I find the driver that was installed?

Hi,

Did you download the (May 9, 2022) https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/Print_Common_SW/Samsung_Mac_Driver_V3.93.03.dmg universal driver from HP (Samsung printers are now part of HP)?

If necessary, reset the printing system and re-add the printer.

By the way, is this an exact M2020? That is, not another M202x or M202xW model (such as the Samsung Xpress M2022W or M2026W listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support).

Thank you for the information.

It appears to be the same driver for the M2020W:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/samsung-xpress-sl-m2020-laser-printer-series/16462592/model/16462596

The universal driver is used with a number of Samsung models (see also this post).

Anything under Use in the Add Printer dialogue?

Since the W indicates a wireless LAN model, a network connection instead of USB could be tested as well.

An M2020W is not specifically mentioned in the About AirPrint article (the M2022W and M2026W are), but one should perhaps not completely rule out that it could support the driverless AirPrint technology anyway (if it does, drivers would not be needed, if the printer is connected to the same network as the Mac).
