My iPhone screen is completely black but it's on

My phone screen is completely black but my phone is on and I can hear it get alerts it can still get calls the screen is just blank. This happened yesterday while i was actively using it the screen started to fade out and turn green before it just suddenly went black and it has not come back on yet. I have work information that I need and this has just been a big inconvenience

You can try a forced restart:


  • Press and quickly release VOLUME UP
  • Press and quickly release VOLUME DOWN
  • Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears (15-30 seconds), ignoring "slide to power off" if it appears


The operative word here is QUICKLY; and try it a couple of times, the timing is a little tricky.


But most likely it’s a hardware failure.
