Deleting emails from Outlook (hotmail) on macbook air won't delete on iPhone (but works the other way round)

When I delete an email from my outlook on my phone, it deletes instantaneously form my hotmail account on my MacBook air. That does not happen the other way around, though. Anything I delete from my McBook still remains on my iPhone. Any suggestions?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13

Hi AppleUserRI,

To confirm, this is happening in the Mail app, correct?

For your iPhone, does it happen when it is connect via Wi-Fi, cellular data, or both? If this issue only happens on Wi-Fi, does it happen on multiple Wi-Fi networks? We're asking this because if the issue is the internet network, it might have a hard time reflecting any changes you make to your email account to another device like your MacBook Air. This article might help, if needed: Connect to Wi-Fi on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Also, if you haven't already, you could see if restarting both your devices may help with this, as then they will make a fresh connection to the internet and your account after the restart:

Take care.
