Dock moving to other monitor

Why does a random swipe on the trackpad (not mouse) move the dock to the external monitor positioned above? And how do I get it back down?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

if one moves the cursor to the bottom mid part of a monitor for some secs the dock will move to that monitor
