Hi,

It is always difficult to recommend a printer. The requirements are so different. Colour or monochrome? Inkjet or laser? With or without scanner? Documents or photos? Et cetera, et cetera. A small monochrome laser printer is often a good choice (high quality prints, low cost per page, no dry ink cartridges) for documents.

I would suggest that you begin by looking at the web sites for the major printer manufacturers (such as Brother, Canon, Epson, and HP) in order to find a model that would be of interest to you.

Look for a model that supports the driverless AirPrint technology. You will find a list of such printers in About AirPrint - Apple Support. An AirPrint printer is compatible with macOS, and can be used without additional drivers, provided that the printer and the Mac computer are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).

Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

An AirPrint printer will also allow you to print from an iPhone or iPad on the same network.

Use AirPrint to print from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch – Apple Support (UK)
