Mouse keeps grabbing and highlight things without commanding it to

This is very irritating.

When I go to click a safari window, the mouse sometimes sticks to the page and drags it around. Or it will highlight text when ever I try and move it around. Also I wont be able to exit pages because of this. I recently downloaded an update for the support the trackpad. It doesn't appear that my mouse is sticking, or any keys are sticking. Anyone know anything about this problem?

Nuclear --
Go to System Preferences > Universal Access >Seeing.
Turn Zoom off.

Or just press the Apple/Command key along with the Option Key and the number 8 key.
That's probably how it got messed up . . . accidental keyboard shortcuts.

HI

Open System Preferences / Keyboard and Mouse then select t he Trackpad tab.

Make sure: "Ignore accidental trackpad in put" is selected.

One suggestion would be to clean the trackpad surface. If it is touch sensitive than it may be picking up more than just your finger.

Reporting the same problem here. It happens on and off, for no discernible reason.

Same problem here - really annoying! Apple please fix this a.s.a.p. I've never experienced this problem before.

I am having the same problem with magic mouse and magic trackpad on my iMac, and with a magic mouse and trackpad on my MacBook. I'v had this problem with 2 different mice.

So far since I've disabled the "Dragging" under "System Preferences", "One Finger", I haven't had any issues. Seems to be the best fix for me!

Had the same issue.

TrackPad replaced - issue still exists.

Full machine wipe - ignored latest trackpad update, problem solved.

I'm having this problem too. And lately my computer will completely freeze and it is really difficult to get it to restart. I don't know if these issues are related.

Well, the problem just returned. I'm now trashing my mouse prefs and restarting. We'll see how that goes.
