I found a solution to iTunes freezing on Windows

Problem: A lot of people trying to download movies to iTunes on Windows have a problem where once the download gets to 100% their iTunes client will freeze, and the movie will remain unplayable once the client is restarted, leaving people in a seemingly endless loop where they can never watch old content. For me, re-downloading everything and making sure everything was up to date didn't solve the problem. What did the trick was taking a look at iTunes in task manager and specifically closing a sub-process titled MobileDeviceHelper. After 'force closing' this sub-process in task manager, my iTunes client instantly unfroze, the file actually disappeared from 'downloads,' and I could play the file just fine. I wanted to reply to several of the discussion threads I found online so other people could try my fix and help us collectively get to the bottom of this bug, but couldn't find the option to do so. Hopefully this was useful, and thanks for your time!
