I found a solution to iTunes freezing on Windows

Problem: A lot of people trying to download movies to iTunes on Windows have a problem where once the download gets to 100% their iTunes client will freeze, and the movie will remain unplayable once the client is restarted, leaving people in a seemingly endless loop where they can never watch old content. For me, re-downloading everything and making sure everything was up to date didn't solve the problem. What did the trick was taking a look at iTunes in task manager and specifically closing a sub-process titled MobileDeviceHelper. After 'force closing' this sub-process in task manager, my iTunes client instantly unfroze, the file actually disappeared from 'downloads,' and I could play the file just fine. I wanted to reply to several of the discussion threads I found online so other people could try my fix and help us collectively get to the bottom of this bug, but couldn't find the option to do so.
