I wasn’t able to add to the thread that was already started on this topic, but yesterday, as I was receiving a call on my iPhone, I put it up to my ear and a horrible piercing loud sound send my whole ear into shock. It rang really badly for about thirty seconds and continues to feel as though there is permanent damage. This has nothing to do with the audio settings. As a music producer, I know what the settings do. This is a flaw in the phone. Apple?
Regardless of the number of users you claim have had this issue, we are not Apple employees here. As such, there is nothing we can do to assist you with this. As muguy has suggested already, you will need to take this issue up directly with Apple. You can do so, simply by selecting the "Get Support" link in the upper right-hand corner of this forum's web page.

Thank seems unlikely but raise your issue with Apple Support.
That would be an insignificant number of folks compared to the user base, hence unlikely. But, you'll want to contact Apple Support.
