In MacBook Air sound alerts for new emails interrupt my Zoom sessions. How to turn off the sound alerts.

System Preferences -> Notifications & Focus -> Mail -> turn off Allow Notifications

Apple Mail Sounds Cause Other App Sounds to Drop Out Folks since upgrading computers to an M2 Max MacBook Pro and moving to macOS Ventura by default, whenever Apple Mail receives mail in the background while using other apps the sounds to those apps stop. This has happened when watching streaming video on Safari and using Zoom for example. This has also happened wether I am plugged in directly to my speakers using the headphone jack or my AirPods bluetooth.. In all occasions the MacBook pro has been in clamshell mode as a desktop.

email notification sounds I can't seem to turn off the notification sound for email on my Mac. I'm not totally sure whether it's coming from the MAIL app that's part of the Mac itself of the GMAIL app that I use. I believe I've turned off notification sounds for both, but the sound still keeps happening with every new incoming message.

Mac Mail app plays additional, unwanted "Mezzo" alert sound No matter how I set "New Messages Sound" in Mail Settings, I also hear the "Mezzo" sound whenever new mail arrives. For every message there are two sounds—what I select AND Mezzo. (If I select Mezzo as my new mail sound do I not get two alerts, just the Mezzo once.) But I dislike Mezzo and want only the sound I prefer. I have booted into Safe Mode and nothing was different. How can I maintain my notifications but stop Mezzo? Thank you. Mac Studio M2 Max macOS 13.5.1 Ventura Mail 16.0
