MacBook Pro 16" 2021 Not Charging (using MagSafe 3) while connected to a Monitor (hdmi)

I got the new Samsung 32" M8 Smart Monitor and the connection with my MacBook Pro has been flawless. I connected it through HDMI (found it worked the best instead of mirroring/bluetooth/airplay/usb-c). No issues, until I realized my MacBook needs to charge, I of course can't power it with the monitor because the connection is through HDMI, so I plugged in the magsafe charger and it's not charging my device because it's connected to my monitor (? I'm guessing)

Does anyone know how I can go about this issue? I'm fairly new to connecting my computer to a monitor so I'm very confused as to why this is happening and how I could fix it.
