The phone can be totally reset (erased) by following the procedure here:


If you've forgotten your iPhone passcode – Apple Support (AU)


Then the phone will probably be “Activation Locked.”


Assuming that the company owns the phone, the company should submit an Activation Lock Support Request as linked at bottom of this article:
