Apple email app not working correctly on iPad

Suddenly, each time I go to check my email using apple’s native email app on my ipad, I receive a blank screen for several minutes. It displays no accounts and no emails. After a few minutes, everything will suddenly pop back into view. Things I have tried to correct the problem:

-restarting my ipad (many times)

-deleting and adding back all my email accounts

-cleaning out old/archived emails from all accounts

-checking WiFi settings and connection

My iPhone (using the same Wi-Fi and email accounts) does not have this issue. Nothing has helped correct the problem and I’m desperate for a solution. This problem started a few weeks ago.

Hello SouthBoy,

We can understand wanting to further isolate the cause of this problem with the Mail app on your iPad. We'll do all we can to help out.

Have you tried to force quit out of all the running apps on your iPad, then reopening the Mail app to see if this corrects the problem? If not, follow these steps to force quit your apps: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support. Once you have quit all the apps, power off and restart your iPad once more. Then, test to see if this corrects the issue.

Also, what version of the iPadOS software is on your iPad? You can check by going to Settings > General > About and check to see if the Version shows iPadOS 15.6. If it does not, backup the iPad and update the software: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.

You can find these steps and more here: If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open - Apple Support. If you have followed all these steps and still have an issue, you'll want to Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support.

Kind regards!

Less, I did try force quitting the app numerous times. I will try force quitting all apps next. Force quitting just the mail app did not affect the issue. I am running the latest version of iPad iOS (15.5 although I am currently updating to 15.6). I have also noticed that the mail app has become unstable and now crashes occasionally. I will post again after trying these additional steps.
