Can't rearrange icons in Doc - MacBook Pro (16" 2021) Monterey 12.3

Just got my MacBook Pro (16" 2021) Monterey 12.3 and am setting up the preferences to my liking. I want to rearrange the icons in the dock, and I use a mouse. I can drag them, but I can't drop them into a new order. They snap right back to the original spot.

The only answer I found was in regard to the trackpad.

"Uncheck Force Click and haptic feedback"

There is no such option for a mouse.

It used to work just fine on the laptop and desktop I had at work (just retired, and so don't have those anymore). Both of those had Monterey, though I can't remember the version.

Please help.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.3

This is very old, but it may be helpful: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/160187/finder-and-dock-issues-in-osx-10-10-1

I've never had your problem, but my wife has on docks where I can easily move icons. We have yet to solve it, but it seems to be related to her Essential Tremor hand tremor. I dunno, jittery hand movements don't seem to work maybe.

I encourage you to upgrade. Monterey 12.5 just came out. That might fix your problem.
