how to view and flush dns cache on ipad, and know that it’s been done
Hi,
I flew on Southwest, and since then, when I go to some websites, it redirects to https://www.southwest.com/inflight-entertainment-portal/ . My thought is that there is some sort of redirect happening, as only the site I tried on the airplane went there. I have tried:
- Rebooting the ipad
- Turning on and off airplane mode
- Using cellular instead of wifi
- Manually setting DNS to 4.2.2.4
What these troubleshooting steps tells me is that there is either something that got put in the hosts file, or something is in the DNS cache.
My questions are, and it doesn’t help to say, “try this, and your problems might go away,” because I won’t learn what the root cause is, and I can’t see the before/after on what happened.
- How do I see the Hosts file on the iPad?
- How can I see the DNS cache on the iPad?
- How can I KNOW that the DNS cache has been flushed?
- How can I manually flush the DNS cache?
- How can I set the cache settings on an iPad to have the TTL be 30 minutes?
