My iPhone photos airdrop to downloads, I want to change location to photos

I'm trying to AirDrop photos on my iPhone 13 to my MacBook Pro running Monterey. The default location is downloads, but I'd like the photos to go to the Photos app. Anyone have any advice?

When I select multiple photos on my iPhone 11 Pro (iOS 16.3.1) and want to Air Drop them to my Mac (Apple M2 Pro macOS Ventura 13.2.1), I get a notification asking me whether I want to import them to the Photo app or save them to the 'Downloads' folder. I choose saving them to the 'Downloads' folder and what it does is creating a new folder for each single picture within the 'Downloads' folder on my Mac Remark: This only happens when I select the option to Air Drop the pictures with 'All Data'. It's ok with my OLD Mac book Pro 2014 running Catalina !

Where do my airdrop photos go - they're not in downloads folder? Hi - when I airdrop photos from my iphone to my macbook, they used to appear in downloads folder but I can't see them there any more? When I click on the photo on my phone, I can see the airdrop symbol asking if I want to airdrop to my mac, I click on this and I can hear the little bell sound on my mac so I know it's on here somewhere (!) and on my phone it confirms the image has been 'sent' ...... but I don't know where it is ..... I've looked in photos and downloads. Any suggestions?

not possible the default is downloads
