Find My exceptions for AirTags?

I cannot set an exception for my air tags if I leave them at home. I have two sets of keys for different vehicles and I can’t leave one home without getting a “left behind” notice every time.

I’ve gone through the steps to add an exception, but every time I get an error message:

“Unable to add location: There was an error adding this location”

I’ve toggled left behind on and off. I’ve made sure my phone is updated. I’ve turned my phone off and back on.
