I get 2 notifications from Instagram messages

When I recieve a message from Instagram, I get 2 push notifications instead of the usual one (see screenshots below). Sometimes I get the second notification instantly, other times after a few minutes. I was unable to spot a pattern. The only difference in the notifications can be seen on the screenshots below: one has the senders picture with a small instagram icon in the bottom right corner and the other has the full instagram icon all over.

Things I’ve tried to do to fix this but didn’t work:

-disable notifications for Instagram in Settings

-log out/log in

-restart phone

-reinstall instagram

-set messages alerts to NEVER

Please help me this is extremely inconvenient and is clogging my notification screen.
